Custom Outdoor Fire Places by Impact Landscapes LLC
Outdoor Fire Places
Curling up by the fireplace during chilly evenings under the open sky is a great feeling. You’re warm, comfortable and out in the open air, away from the indoors for some time. Having a fireplace outdoors not only adds an ambiance and warmth to your backyard or patio, it also makes a great centerpiece and design element. It can look dramatic and grand or sleek and modern, depending on your outdoor fireplace ideas.
We at Impact Landscapes see many of our clients asking for fireplaces in their backyards in Dallas, Carrollton, Lewisville, Coppell, Flower Mound, Frisco, McKinney, Allen, Prosper, Plano and the surrounding areas. Our clients have recognized that it can be a great asset to social gatherings and parties. We’ve completed many custom fireplace projects in homes across the Dallas / Fort Worth Metroplex. They often add a different charm and feel to your outdoors.
Versatility of Outdoor Fireplaces
Outdoor fireplaces can add a great design element to your backyard but they’re also functional. You can easily add a grill to it, so it can also act as a BBQ. Some people add pizza ovens on top of their outdoor fireplaces; these can be made from several different materials.
Brick: Brick fireplaces have several advantages. The charm of brick is timeless, and even though it has been around for several years, it never really goes out of style. The material is durable even when continuously exposed to the elements. It can also withstand a great deal of heat from the fireplace. It can be a bit expensive since laying brick is a labor-intensive process and the installation takes time.
Stone: Today, many people prefer using stone while building outdoor fireplaces. Not only does it add an interesting design element to your backyard, but it is also very durable. Stone makes the fireplace look natural, like it is a part of your landscape and yet, it blends in very well with modern design concepts. The installation takes time but the end result is worth the effort. The veneers are available in different earth-toned colors and designs.
Stucco: This is the most affordable option available that certainly has its own charm. Stucco fireplaces fit in well if you have a Mediterranean, Spanish or Southwestern style home. The material is essentially colored Portland cement. It can also be gypsum. This fireplace is very easy to install and can come in a variety of colors. It is, however, susceptible to cracks and excessive heat.
Concrete: Nothing is as modern as tastefully used concrete. People who’re looking to build a modern outdoor fireplace often use this material for construction. If you choose a gas-burning concrete fireplace, you’ll add a very different and almost industrial and sleek design element to your backyard. Concrete fireplaces can be easy to install and maintain but can’t stand excessive cold weather easily. The freeze and thaw makes them vulnerable to cracks.
